If a work af art is a projection od this regard - which
intends not to explain the world, but feel it, Lúcia Barbosa
shows us with the honest of few, this well lived life,
somultiple and full of meaning.
Her work takes the universe of the Brazilian Middle West West
to the word, portraying its opposing forces of economic
growth and taking down forests, and the
deadlock between the occupation of productive
land and the indigenous culture. This way, she amplifies the voice
of the ones who have lost the power to decide their own fate,
whether they are indigenous, jaguars or trees.
Lúcia is an artist who sees the indigenous with the regard
of a tree, who sees the treewith the regard of the jaguar,
and sees the jaguar with the regard of an indigenous...
And she offers us the opportunity of sharing this personal
and manysided regard.
